UK casino bonuses under the 2026 wagering cap

Updated

Written and kept up to date by our own desk. We start at the cashier, we check the licence number against the regulator’s own register, and we print a figure only where the operator states it in terms we can read. How we check.

A UK casino bonus is a much smaller document than it used to be. Wagering on new-customer offers is capped at ten times the bonus, and tying a casino offer to a deposit on another product is no longer permitted. What is left is easier to compare and much harder to dress up.

Welcome offers with no wagering on the winnings

Only the brands whose welcome offer carries no wagering requirement, so what the spins win is cash and not bonus credit to play through.

All 7 hold a UK Gambling Commission licence. 18+ · New customers only · Full terms apply at the operator; the figures here are the ones the operator states.

Every offer still reduces to three figures: what you must deposit, what you must turn over, and the maximum you can withdraw from the winnings. A headline gives you one of the three. The cards below print all three where the operator states them, and print nothing where it does not.

Where the cost of a bonus actually sits

Wagering is the figure everyone compares and it is rarely the one that decides anything. Two offers at the same multiple can be a world apart, because the multiple says how much must be turned over and says nothing about how hard the operator makes it to turn over. Four conditions do that work, and all four are in the terms rather than on the banner.

The first is the maximum stake allowed while a wagering requirement is open. It is usually a small, flat figure, and breaching it once is often enough to void the bonus and everything won with it — not to pause it, to void it. The second is game weighting: slots typically count in full, table games count for a fraction or not at all, and a requirement that looked reasonable on slots becomes arithmetic that cannot be finished on roulette. The third is the clock. A requirement with a short expiry is a bigger constraint than a larger requirement with a long one, because it forces stake size up to finish in time, which is the opposite of what the maximum-stake rule allows. The fourth is the cap on what can be converted out of free spins, which is frequently a fixed amount regardless of what the spins actually win.

Why the small offer is often the better one

Put those together and the ranking that matters inverts fairly often. A modest match with a low multiple, full slot weighting and a month to clear is worth more than a headline several times its size attached to a short clock and a low conversion cap, and the second one is the one that gets advertised. The useful habit is to read the offer backwards: start at the withdrawal cap, then the expiry, then the weighting, then the stake limit, and only then look at the headline percentage. If any of the first four is missing from the terms, the offer is not comparable to anything and the sensible move is to skip it rather than to guess.

What a bank-login casino changes

Sites built on a bank login often run no welcome bonus at all, and that is a position rather than an oversight. Their argument is that the offer is speed: the account opens in one step, verification has already happened at the bank, and the withdrawal goes back down the rail it arrived on without a second identity check. An operator competing on that has nothing to gain from locking a balance behind a turnover requirement, because the requirement is the thing that slows the withdrawal down. When such a site does run an offer, it is usually small, short and free of a conversion cap — and worth reading precisely because there is less in it to hide.

Two rules changed the shape of all of this for British players. Wagering on new-customer offers is capped, so the arms race over multiples has no room left in it; and an offer on one product can no longer be made to depend on a deposit on another, which ended the practice of pulling casino players into a sportsbook and back. What remains is a document short enough to read in full before opting in, and that is the whole case for reading it.
