Written and kept up to date by our own desk. We start at the cashier, we check the licence number against the regulator’s own register, and we print a figure only where the operator states it in terms we can read. How we check.
This page describes what this site actually does with data. The site is a set of static pages: there is no account to open and no comment box. Two pages carry a form — the home page carries a subscription box, the contact page a message box — and what each one collects is set out under forms below.
What is stored on your device
One entry, in your browser’s local storage, under the key nak.ck. It
records that you closed the notice at the bottom of the screen, so that it does not come
back on the next page. It holds the single value 1, it is readable only by this
site, and clearing your browsing data removes it. We set no advertising or analytics cookie
of our own.
What we do not run
- No analytics of any kind on these pages — no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel, no heatmap.
- No advertising network, no retargeting and no profile of you.
- No external fonts or images: the stylesheet, the fonts, the icons and the brand marks are all served from this domain. The single exception is the script file behind the two forms, described below.
The two forms
The subscription box on the home page and the message box on the contact page are run for us by fortunida.com, which processes what you type on our behalf and for no other purpose. The form is drawn by a script file loaded from that domain, so opening those two pages tells it your IP address and browser string, as any request does. No other page on this site loads it.
- Subscription box. Collects the email address you type, so that we can send you new articles. The basis is your consent, given by submitting it; you withdraw it by using the unsubscribe link in any message or by writing to the address on the contact page, and the address is then deleted. It is not passed to an operator, an advertiser or anyone else.
- Message box. Collects your name, your email address and the text of your message, so that we can answer. The basis is our legitimate interest in replying to the person who wrote to us. The message is kept for as long as it takes to deal with it and no longer.
Both forms are processed by fortunida.com as our processor, and it is the only recipient of what you type besides us. Neither form sets an advertising cookie, and neither is used to build a profile of you.
Server logs
Requests to this site are logged by the hosting provider in the ordinary way: IP address, time, the page requested, the browser string. Those logs exist to keep the site up and to deal with abuse, they are not combined with anything else, and we do not use them to build any profile of a visitor.
Links that leave the site
Buttons that open an operator pass through our own redirect on the way, which counts the click so that we are credited for it. It records that a click happened, and it does not receive your name or any account detail — we have neither. Once you land on the operator, that company’s own privacy policy applies, and it is the only party that ever sees your registration or payment data.
Writing to us
If you send mail to the address on the contact page, rather than using the box on it, we keep the message for as long as it takes to deal with it and no longer. It is not added to any list, and mail sent that way does not pass through the processor named above.
Changes
If what the site does changes, this page changes with it in the same edit. It describes the site as it stands, not as a template.
